Student Evaluations
Over the past fifteen years, schools and families have found answers to their educational needs at CDL. Teachers, students and their families work with CDL's licensed and/or certified professionals to understand how their children learn, where the learning process is breaking down, and specific strategies that will help their children.
To gain this understanding, our psychologists conduct evaluations
for children, adolescents, and adult students. From the information
collected during evaluation sessions, a comprehensive profile
of strengths and weaknesses is identified. When requested, evaluations
are tailored to meet required special education guidelines.
What makes CDL services different?
Many educators and families have come to CDL after pursuing other sources of evaluations. We consistently hear from them what sets our services apart:
- All testing is performed by doctoral level, licensed psychologists - not unlicensed bachelor or master level clinical associates or psychometricians
- Comprehensiveness
- Focus on identification of student's strengths
- Immediate and thorough explanation of evaluation findings
- Description of student's functional abilities in addition to test
scores
- Emphasis on strategies to manage problems - over half of a CDL written
evaluation report details specific strategies for managing
weaknesses and capitalizing on strengths
